There is no switch, just a reminder on the dash showing number of miles completed since you went on reserve.
Did 28 miles (Mainly spirited M/way riding) on the Fugly reserve and ran out of fuel 6' short of the pump |

When I lived in Cornwall I was filling up every 3 weeks or so because used the car several times a day. Here in Wilts we use the car about twice a week. |
I'm green Bob.
I pour petrol in my motor. Averaging 31 mpg at the moment. (But I am being quite aggressive )
Overall since new it's averaging 35 point something which isn't too bad considering HP and the way I drive the thing.
One factor I have noticed though. When SWMBO is in the car the mpg goes up!!!! Strange that! |

| Never totally sure - at 150 the light starts flashing and I sweat at 170 if I have not filled up. (Burgman 650 and I suspect 60mpg) |

On my Majesty 250 the MPG varies by as much as 30MPG depending on the type of use, motorways, dual carriageways, and full throttle work gets me 65 MPG while I went on a run last week up the Ayrshire coast and back via back roads and avoiding dual carriageways etc.. I covered 124 miles on 6 litres, an average of 94 MPG so I'm well chuffed. This means up to 248 miles on a tankful ( 12litres)

On my old Ludix 50 I used to get 80-100, the B125 was noramlly 75-80 but had been known to get 95mpg.
Just got looneys Leonardo 250 and only done one measurement so far and that was 67mpg (same engine as the majesty). I must admit I have been zooming around on it! |

Been doing 100miles a day runs recently on the Fuoco three wheeler, so far its 71mpg at speeds up to 85mph. I thought that was pretty good as the Fuoco is quite heavy and probably not that aerodynamic. Handy to read Derek,s comment about reserve capacity (as I have not tried it as yet) wonder what your average consumption is though Derek (perhaps you can advise) |

I've had my X8 400ie for just over a week now but have managed over 700miles. The best mpg I've had so far was riding from Bob's place in Melksham down to Swanage and back up to Salisbury - 195kms and about 7 litres which worked out at 78mpg!!
That was mostly country roads at an average of around 60mph. Last week I commuted 3 days on it and that plus the motorway miles between Salisbury and where I lived worked out at about 65mpg. I managed over 70mpg yesterday on a rideout which included some pootling along at 50mph and some fast motorway sections. I got to 271kms before I chickened out and filled up - only to put 10.5 litres in so I reckon I could probably get 300+kms if I'm brave, though maybe not on commuting mileage.
I am pleased with the consumption as it's actually turning out to be more economical than my old 250 which averaged about 63mpg on my commute. Mind you the 400 engine is a lot more sophisticated. |

I have just consulted my friend with the little grey cells, HP, and he is of the same opinion, definitely at the bottom of the tank! |

On a recent 4,000 mile run I averaged 67 mpg but very little A roads or motorways and I doubt my speed averaged greater than 50 mph and I was fully loaded with a top box and two panniers. On urban roads I find the reserve takes me about 27 miles at normal riding speeds. |

I don't understand how some of you are getting such high mileage figures.
Fuoco with all that weight getting 60-70mpg.
My Atlantic has a 17 litre tank. I suppose that must rank up there as being one of the larger tanks for a scooter. My fuel consumption according the the bike is around 52mpg...
On last Saturday's 'Rutland run', I did 161 miles and was still reasonably far off the red... |
